Plastic, Esthetic and Reconstructive Surgery

Laser treatments

Plastic, reconstructive and aesthetic surgery is a specialty that covers various fields as the name suggests.
It offers treatments to correct acquired defects, such as sequelae of accidents and burns, or congenital defects such as cleft palate or angiomas, but also malformations of the hand like syndactyly and polydactyly.

Another area of this specialty is the reconstruction of parts of the body (breast, ear, ..) or reconstruction following surgery of skin cancers or following accidents having caused significant skin loss.

Cosmetic surgery and aesthetic medicine are the best known and most popular area of this specialty. It aims to reshape the profile or the silhouette of the person. It goes from liposuction, liposculpture to the treatment of excess skin after an important weight loss following a diet or bariatric surgery.

The most frequent procedures for face plastic surgery are rhinoplasty, upper blepharoplasty for dermatochalasis (eyelid surgery for excess skin), otoplasty for the treatment of “peeled ears”, facial lifting, and mini lift .

In breast cosmetic surgery , procedures include breast reduction for the treatment of breast hypertrophy, mastopexy (breast lift without volume modification), breast augmentation or a combination of the latter two. In men one of the surgeries practiced is the treatment of gynecomastia which is an enlargement of the mammary gland that often appears at the time of puberty and persists after hormonal stabilisation after puberty. Gynecomastia may also be the consequence of excess weight, or after the treatment of obesity and can be successfully dealt with by a plastic surgeon.

Abdominoplasty, or removal of excess skin from the abdominal wall, is one of the most popular surgeries. It is intended for women who have kept an excess of skin after one or more pregnancies with or without excess fat.

For the treatment of excess skin after a significant loss of weight, circular abdominoplasty is practiced to remove the abdominal apron but also to correct the fall of the buttocks.

Liposuction is intended to correct an accumulation of fat, called lipodystrophy. This deformity is often of hereditary origin . It is not intended for people who want to get rid of excess weight. Liposuction is often associated with other surgical procedures such as abdominoplasty or gynecomastia treatment.

Liposculpture is a fine correction of a defect related to the accumulation of fat under the skin such as the double chin but also excess hip fat accumulation or the excess fat in the internal part of the knees.

One technique derived from liposuction is the filling with fat taken from the person being treated called lipofilling. The technique consists of taking fat from a donor area (abdomen, knees, love handles ..) to treat it to separate the fat cells from the serum and inject it into the desired area to treat the face or increase Breasts or buttocks or even correct defects in the body.

The plastic surgeon also carries out a whole range of non-invasive aesthetic treatments, ranging from filling products such as

  • hyaluronic acid (Juvederm®, Perfectha®),
  • polylactic acid (Ellansé®),
  • calcium hydroxyapatite (Radiesse®)

Botulinum toxin (Botox®, Bocouture®), tensor wires (Silhouette Soft®),
